The deck/approach to the poolhouse is finished* (*all but the fascia) and it's looking/working pretty well. Since the deck was low, the structure is made from doubled-up 2X4s instead of 2X6s, but it's structurally solid and wrapped with flashing for many years of service.
The cambara wood was left over from a fencing project that a neighbor was wrapping up (Thanks, Blaine!). I'd never worked with it before, but it was a great option. In this case, it was cost-effective, easy to work with and took the Messmer's UV-plus oil quite well.
I used the Camo fasteners and loved them. I plan to used them when re-decking the pool-deck (and hopefully can continue with the cambara ... or batu.)
This is about as clean as it's ever going to look, so I wanted to snap a few photos before the birds pooped on it.
The wood + oil combination looks so good. Nice project.
